No. Turning one on mounts it in your nav for the roles you allow. Turning it off hides it and blocks its API.
Phone service needs things a card checkout can't collect: your emergency (E911) service address, numbers to port or a new local number, and usage billing for minutes and SMS. Octone runs on its own account linked to your company, so it can be added, ported or cancelled without touching your CRM subscription.
